Congratulations to Hoosic Valley’s Renee Parry, our newest Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week.
Many weeks it’s difficult to select our player of the week award winner as there is never a shortage of deserving athletes, but when I saw this stat line midweek I looked no further.
Renee had a good month, on a Wednesday afternoon at Clums Corners in the Indians 16-3 victory over the Bengals. The Valley junior went yard twice hitting a two, and three-run jack, added a double and single while driving in five for the surging Indian squad.
Congratulations to Renee, this week’s recipient of the Wasaren Player of the Week Award.

Greenwich and Cambridge got together in Cambridge on Thursday for baseball and softball contests in a season where both girls squads are rolling while the boys teams have struggled. Yesterday Greenwich rode a strong pitching performance from freshman Christian O’Brien to an 11-5 victory, while the Lady Witches needed extra frames to turn back the Indians.
Just two Wasaren schools in softball/baseball action on Monday as Hoosick Falls and Stillwater played one baseball game and two on the softball field, the Panthers coming away with victories in all three.
In the spirit of Mr. Cub Ernie Banks and his famous “Let’s play two!”, we’ll kick off our spring season by naming two players of the week. Congratulations to our chosen pair, Greenwich’s Rachel Hall and Waterford’s Connor Houle.
