Take Away: The Saints earn back-to-back, Class C state titles led by Byrne’s strong outing. Spa Catholic finishes their outstanding campaign at 23-3 with Wasaren, regional and state championships. Congratulations to the Saints on another remarkable baseball season.

Hitting Stars: Saints – Max Britton 2 hits Carson Mosher 2 Hits

Take Away: Trailing 3-1 late, the Saints added a run in the sixth and plated three in the top of the seventh, and Dejnozka closed the door in the bottom of the frame sending Spa Catholic to the Class C state final on Saturday at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton. Dejnozka entered the game after a three-hour rain delay and the left-hander scattered a pair of hits over five and a third innings while fanning 10 in the semifinal “W”.

The Saints (22-3) will look to make it back-to-back state titles on Saturday afternoon, facing Section V champion Kendall.

Hitting Stars: Saints – Carson Mosher 4-4, 2 2B’s Kihl Kelly 2-4, RBI Joey Lindner 1-5, 2 RBI’s Max Britten 2 RBI’s

Take Away: Pierce, Mosher and Dejozka combine for the no-hitter with 17 punchouts, leading Spa Catholic to the comfortable Class C state quarterfinal win. The Saints took control with a four-run second and plated two more in the fourth and a lone run in the sixth in the “W”. Spa Catholic moves to the Class C semifinal on Friday at Mirabito Stadium in Binghamton and a matchup with top-seeded Tuckahoe.

Take Away: Groom spins the no-hitter to lead Chatham past Hoosick Falls and earn the Section II Class B softball championship.

Galway 10 Greenwich 7

Hitting Stars: Galway – Courtney Smith 3B, HR, 4 RBI’s Witches – Lexie Jansen HR Elle Celani Grand Slam

Take Away: Greenwich took a 6-4 lead in the top of the second on Celani’s grand slam. but Galway responded with a four-run third and held off the Witches the rest of the way to capture the Section II Class C softball title.
