Tamarac Rolls Over Cambridge, Witches Top Fordians

Tamarac hosted the Indians of Cambridge in baseball on Wednesday and plated runs in every inning they came to the plate.  Our Wasaren Sportsnet Player of the Week Jake Scharnott led the onslaught with four doubles on the afternoon, part of a 16 hit 15 run effort by the Bengals.

Doubleheader Thursday: Witches, Valley, Warriors Sweep

A full slate of action in the league on Thursday with a handful of teams playing twin bills.  The Greenwich girls took two from Hoosick Falls, the Valley won twice against Waterford, and the Stillwater boys notched a pair of one run decisions over neighboring rival Mechanicville highlighting a May afternoon in the Wasaren. Some good Monday matchups in the league especially on the softball side where Saratoga Catholic played a pair with Stillwater, and Hoosic Valley traveled to Cambridge in a meeting between two teams near the top of the Wasaren standings.

Greenwich Wins on Both Diamonds

73_greenwichGreenwich and Cambridge got together in Cambridge on Thursday for baseball and softball contests in a season where both girls squads are rolling while the boys teams have struggled.   Yesterday Greenwich rode a strong pitching performance from freshman Christian O’Brien to an 11-5 victory, while the Lady Witches needed extra frames to turn back the Indians. Indians and Saints Split on the Diamonds

Saratoga Catholic made the trip to Schaghticoke Wednesday afternoon to take on the Indians of Hoosic Valley in both softball and baseball.  The Saints baseball team rode into town with a 5-0 league mark, while the Lady Saints were 2-2 in Wasaren play.  Potentially a pair of competitive contests never materialized as two one-sided decisions played out. Diamond Roundup; Spa Catholic Boys, Greenwich Girls Post Dominant Wins

The Saratoga Catholic baseball team is finding their new digs in the Wasaren just fine thank you.  The Saints have yet to lose a league game in their inaugural Wasaren season, pounding Greenwich 10-4 on Tuesday, moving to 5-0 in conference play.

On the girls side Greenwich won for the third time in as many outings crushing Spa Catholic 15-1, part of a busy diamond Tuesday in the league. Continue reading
