Saints, Witches, Panthers Post “W’s”

The top three golf teams in the Wasaren notched wins on Wednesday and did so in impressive fashion with each squad posting shutout victories.

Greenwich 5  Mechanicville 0:  Mason Williamson showed the way in the Witches “W” firing a 39 in action at the Battenkill Country Club on Wednesday.  Continue reading

Mechanicville 6 Hoosick Falls 1:  The Raiders scored five times before intermission in rolling past the Panthers on Tuesday.

Jeff Luce tallied twice, while teammates Marcus Tobin, Chris Ciccarelli, Rocco DeVito and Drew Murphy all added goals for the 4-1 Red Raider squad.

 

Hoosic Valley 2  Cambridge 1:  With two minutes left in the contest Chris Hallam took a feed from Derek Kehn and found the back of the net to give the Indians the “W” over Cambridge.

First half scores by Cambridge’s Emerson Lopez and Hoosic Valley’s Frank Abel had knotted things at 1-1 for most of the afternoon before Hallam’s strike sealed the Valley “W”.

Cambridge 2  Berlin 1:  Ian Montgomery and Emerson Lopez both found the range for Cambridge as the Indians got past Berlin on Monday afternoon.

Montgomery scored off a feed from Eli Robertson for a first half score, but after the break Berlin’s Anthony Santon tied things with an unassisted tally at the 46:00 mark. Continue reading

Boys Soccer; Witches, Raiders Post Shutout Victories

Greenwich 4  Hoosick Falls 0:  The Witches ran out to a 3-0 halftime advantage and coasted to the shutout over the Falls.

AJ Rymph, John Swertner and Liam Kelleher all found the range with first half strikes for Greenwich while Henry Hansen rounded out the scoring with a second half goal as the Witches improved to 3-0 this season with the win. Continue reading
