Boys Soccer; Witches, Raiders Post Shutout Victories


Greenwich 4  Hoosick Falls 0:  The Witches ran out to a 3-0 halftime advantage and coasted to the shutout over the Falls.

AJ Rymph, John Swertner and Liam Kelleher all found the range with first half strikes for Greenwich while Henry Hansen rounded out the scoring with a second half goal as the Witches improved to 3-0 this season with the win.

Brenden Rodd with seven saves earned the shutout for the Witches, while Hoosick Falls keeper Cody Hodges stopped six for the Panthers who fall to 1-2, 1-3 on the year.


Waterford 7  Hoosic Valley 0:  The Fordians pounded the back of the net six times in the first half on their way to the easy “W” over the Valley.

Hunter Guertin led the way for Waterford with four first half connections with teammates Joey Espey Vanier and Nikilo Ghidei adding single scores propelling the Fordians to the 6-0 cushion at the break.

The Indians avoided the shutout when Zack Ryan connected for the Valley late in the second half on a nice goal just inside the far post.


Mechanicville 6  Tamarac 0:  The Red Raiders blew open a close contest with four second half goals and pulled away for the win over the Bengals of Tamarac.

Goals by Chris Ciccarelli and Zac Rappacioulo staked Mechanicville to a 2-0 halftime lead, but after the break Rappacioulo, Marcus Tobin, Jeff Luce and Riley Duesler all rang the bell putting this one away for the Raiders.

Tyler Kraszewski with three saves earned the shutout for Mechanicville, while Tamarac keeper Tyler Peterson turned back 15 shots in the match.
