We said here yesterday that the Mechanicville Red Raiders would be a tough out the rest of the way and that certainly was the case last night in a home run with Hoosic Valley, but the Indians are, well the Indians, and they prevailed, outscoring the Raiders in the overtime session to claim the 51 48 victory. Stillwater Tops Schuylerville

stillwater warriorThe Stillwater girls took the short drive north Monday night to take on the Black Horses of Schuylerville in a non-league run.  The two squads met back in November with Schuylerville notching a 55-43 victory, and last night the Warriors looked to avenge that early season defeat.

Deadlocked at 23, after two quarters of play, Stillwater used a big second half out scoring the Horses 31-19 to capture the “W”.

Schuylerville’s Emily Valee led all scorers in this one pouring a game high 26 points.

Danika Svendsen paced the Warriors with 15 points, and Marly Muller added 12 for Stillwater who are enjoying a solid season.  With the win they improve to 4-6, 6-8 on the year with a pair of those league defeats coming by just a single point.

Next up for Stillwater it’s back to league play, and fitting that on this Regents week the Warriors will be well tested Friday night when the front-running Tamarac Bengals come to town.
