The Stillwater girls took the short drive north Monday night to take on the Black Horses of Schuylerville in a non-league run. The two squads met back in November with Schuylerville notching a 55-43 victory, and last night the Warriors looked to avenge that early season defeat.
Deadlocked at 23, after two quarters of play, Stillwater used a big second half out scoring the Horses 31-19 to capture the “W”.
Schuylerville’s Emily Valee led all scorers in this one pouring a game high 26 points.
Danika Svendsen paced the Warriors with 15 points, and Marly Muller added 12 for Stillwater who are enjoying a solid season. With the win they improve to 4-6, 6-8 on the year with a pair of those league defeats coming by just a single point.
Next up for Stillwater it’s back to league play, and fitting that on this Regents week the Warriors will be well tested Friday night when the front-running Tamarac Bengals come to town.
