Tonight the Hoosick Falls Panthers play host to the Indians of Hoosic Valley in what should be an interesting and very important contest in the race for the Wasaren crown.
The Panthers enter tonight’s action at 8-0 in league play and winners of 11 straight. They average 51.2 nightly and allow 37.1 defensively. Megan Flynn at 14.2 points, and Kelly Pine at 13.2 lead the Falls offensively.
The Indians come in with a 6-2 league mark, winners of their last six. They score 42.1 per, and give up just 28.4 points nightly. Kate Kennelley 7.5 points, Becky Keasbey 5.8, Emily Norman 5.7, and Cami Hren 5.3 lead an offense that frequently put’s 10 players in the scorebook.
In the meeting between the two squads on December 11th, Hoosick Falls prevailed 35-33 in overtime. An interesting stat from that game was the disparity at the foul line. The Falls converted 12 of 14 from the stripe, while the Valley was just 1 of 3.
Look for a low scoring, grind it out affair tonight where a win by the Indians moves them to within a game of the Panthers with five league contests remaining. Conversely a victory by the Falls in all likelihood eliminates the Valley from title contention.
It should be great run tonight in the Falls.
