Friday Night Hoops

We said on this site yesterday, when looking at Friday night’s schedule in the Wasaren you wondered if there would be any close contests.  At night’s end most favored teams did prevail, but as always the league provided games decided late, with an upset as well.

Girls

Tamarac 64     Cambridge 37

Leading Scorers: Bengals – Emily Erickson 17      Indians – Bridley Nolan 10

Key Stat:  Tamarac won every quarter, and placed 10 in the scoring column in the decisive win over the Indians.

Records: Tamarac 9-3, 11-5     Cambridge 7-5, 11-6

 

Greenwich 47  Stillwater 41

Leading Scorers: Witches – Sabrina Whitehouse 14    Olivia Barnes 13    Isabelle Kuzmich 1o       Warriors – Abby Higgins 12    Natalie Mennetto 10

Key Stat: With the team tied at 30, heading to the fourth, the Witches out scored Stillwater 17-11 to pull the upset.

Records: Greenwich 3-9, 8-9     Stillwater 5-7, 8-10

 

Hoosick Falls 64   Granville 27

Leading Scorers: Falls – Megan Flynn 16     Kelly Pine 12     Alyssa Ellis 10      Horde Gabby Hunt 7   Bre Greenough 7

Key Stat: The Panthers ran out to a 37-13 advantage at the half, put 10 players in the scorebook, and posted the easy win over the Golden Horde.

Records: Hoosick Falls 11-1, 15-2    Granville 0-12, 3-13

 

Hoosic Valley 52  Mechanicville 26

Leading Scorers: Valley – Cami Hren 14    Red Raiders – Amanda Kenyon 11

Key Stat: In the theme of the night, the Valley was the third league team to have 10 players score, and they used a 23-3 final frame to pull away from the Raiders and post the victory.

Records: Hoosic Valley 10-2, 14-2  Mechanicville 3-9, 4-11

 

Boys

Hoosick Falls 55   Granville 39

Leading Scorers: Falls – Remington Hickey 22    Connor McCart 14      Alex Mendez 13      Horde – Trace Bourn 13

Key Stat: The Panthers used a 32 -15 advantage over the middle two periods, to get past the Horde.

Records: Hoosick Falls 10-2, 11-5    Granville 5-7, 6-12

 

Tamarac 46   Cambridge 43

Leading Scorers: Bengals – Dillon Maxon 17    Mike Morrow 11    Anthony Zotto 10      Indians – Kordell Benson 18     Daniel Genevick 10

Key Stat: Tamarac trailed 13-8 after one, built a 35-24 cushion after three, and hung on over the final eight minutes for the “W”.

Records: Tamarac 5-7, 7-9     Cambridge 1-11, 5-11

 

Stillwater 52   Greenwich 40

Leading Scorers: Warriors – Mitchel Wayand 21    Jared D’Aloia 19    Zack Travis 12    Witches – Colin Skiff 11

Key Stat:  Normally when a team puts just three players in the scoring column, they’ll be tagged with a loss.  Not the case in Stillwater Friday night as the Warriors “Big Three” provided enough offense for the comfortable win over Greenwich.

Records: Stillwater 11-1, 15-3    Greenwich 2-10, 3-14
