The NBA-D league playoffs got underway Tuesday night with the Westchester Knicks hosting the Sioux Falls Skyforce in game one of the Eastern Conference semifinals, and at night’s end the visitors from the west secured a 109-95 victory in the best of three series.
Sioux Falls led 33-18 after the first period and maintained that double figure cushion throughout most of the contest.
Jimmer Fredette kept the Knicks within reach in quarter number two pouring in 13 points, but Westchester still trailed by 10 at the half.
Over the final two periods the Knicks could get no closer than 10, as Sioux Falls shot lights out from the floor in taking game one of the series.
Fredette finished with 20 points on 6 of 16 shooting to lead the Knicks while Sioux Falls Jarnell Stokes led all scorers on the night with 28 points.
The two teams now travel to Sioux Falls where they’ll play game two on Friday night with an 8 p.m. tip.
