In Class C Greenwich’s season ended in a 7-2 loss to Maple Hill, while in the B’s Hoosic Valley bested top seeded Cohoes 4-2 advancing to the championship game on Friday. Continue reading

When we previewed the Section II tournament a week ago I thought both Greenwich and Hoosic Valley baseball teams would be in the finals in their respective classes. On an afternoon where Hoosic Valley had missed out on some scoring chances the Indians Ashley Madigan wasn’t going to let that happen again. Madigan delivered a clutch single in the bottom of the seventh scoring Katrina Dean with the game winner, as Hoosic Valley prevailed 4-3 over Chatham in Class B quarterfinal softball action.
