Boys Soccer, Mechanicville Stays Hot

redraiderMechanicville 3  Hoosick Falls 0:  The Red Raiders of Mechanicville extended their unbeaten streak to eight on Monday with a 3-0 victory over the Panthers of Hoosick Falls.

Adan Urbaetis got things started for the Raiders with a first half strike from 25 yards out, and minutes later it was Chris Ciccerelli scoring off a nice find from Jeff Luce for a 2-0 Raider advantage.

Luce capped the scoring on the afternoon finishing a long ball feed from Marcus Tobin sealing the eighth victory in as many outings for Mechanicville.

Raider keeper Tyler Kraszewski with seven saves earned the shutout.

Saratoga Catholic 3  Hoosic Valley 2: A Zack Cronk breakaway late in the second half, led to a penalty kick that Dante Marin put away giving the Saints the well earned victory over Hoosic Valley.

Spa Catholic held a 2-0 lead at the break on scores from Jack Munn and Cronk, but second half tallies from the Valley’s Dale Maxon and Paul Howard evened things setting up Marin’s game winner.

Cambridge 3  Tamarac 1:  Max Ratelle, Daniel Medina and freshman Colby Geroux all found the back of the net for the Indians in their win over the Bengals.

Cambridge led at halftime after Ratelle’s early score, but Tamarac tied things at the 60:00 mark on a Jack Mulligan finish.

Four minutes later Median found the range for the Indians and a nice midfield run and score by Geroux put this away for the host squad who improves to 5-2 on the season with the “W”.
