Girls Basketball

Cambridge 0-1 @ Hoosic Valley 2-2:  Cambridge has only played one time this season, a 50-31 loss to Greenwich.  Helen Mooney and Grace Snyder lead the Indians offense that will be tested tonight against the Valley man D.

Hoosic Valley will play it’s fifth game on the year and are led in scoring by Cami Hren and Alex Rifenburg who combine for 17 nightly.  This is another night where the Valley defense will secure the “W”.

Hoosick Falls 2-0 @ Waterford 0-3:  The Fordians have had trouble scoring the ball in the early going averaging just 20 points per game, with their leading scorer Hannah Camfield at 5.5.

The Falls, fresh off a 60-58 win over Tamarac has size depth, and talent.  Kelly Pine and Lizza Ryan lead a talented Panther attack that shouldn’t have much trouble in notching their third straight.

Saratoga Catholic 1-2 @ Stillwater 1-3:  The Saints last time out was a week ago, dropping a 33 point decision to Mechanicville.  Emma VanDeCar scores at 15 a night for Spa Catholic.

The Warriors come off a 41-40 loss to Mechanicville and are led in scoring by Danika Svendsen at 15 points per.  I like the Warriors, at home, in this one.

Mechanicville 3-1 @ Tamarac 1-1:  Sammy Pasinella and Amanda Kenyon combine for 25 points nightly to lead the Raiders who have gotten off to a nice start.

Tamarac comes in off a tough 60-58 loss to the Falls.  A talented squad with scoring depth led by Emily Erickson at 15.5 and Hannah Kreiger at 13 points per game.  I like the home squad here.

Boys Basketball

Waterford 2-2 @ Hoosick Falls 2-0:  The Fordians Kyle Fairclough scores 26 nightly accounting for half of Waterford’s production.

Guy Milliman Evan McCart and Jonathan Kempf combine for 41 points per.  The Falls can may cruise tonight.

Tamarac 1-1 @ Mechanicville 1-3:  Tamarac comes in off a 10 point loss to the Valley.  Brad Schneider averages 20 points per to lead the Bengals.

Mechanicville tries to shake off a 30 point loss to Stillwater on Tuesday. Nick Billert and Kendrick McCann lead the Raiders scoring 11 and 10 points per contest in the early going. Mechanicville at home bounces back with the “W”.

Stillwater 2-2 @ Saratoga Catholic 1-2:  The Warriors Jared D’Aloia can score the ball averaging 27 nightly for Stillwater.  In the Mechanicville game Zack Travis got it going as well pouring in a career high 29.

Spa Catholic has a pair of scorers in Tyler Haraden and Connor Farrington who combine for 44 points per.  Both can shoot it from deep with 24 combined makes from beyond the arc, for a team that averages 11 made threes per game.  This one may be a shootout, and I’ll go with the visitors from Stillwater to secure the win.

Cambridge 0-1 @ Hoosic Valley 2-1:  Cambridge dropped a 60-58 decision to Greenwich in the season-opener on Tuesday.  Still rounding into form after a state title in football, Shawn Lemieux, Ryan McLenithan , and Brendan Holcomb can play on the hardwood as well.

The Valley enters off a 10 point win over Tamarac and brings three double digit scorers into the contest.  Isaac Sanchez 15 points, Michael Schoonmaker 12, and John Acker at 10 points per, give depth to the Valley attack.  Tough call here but I’ll take the home squad in a close one.
