Saints, Fordians Post Wins; Houle Throws Second No-Hitter

Saratoga Catholic and Waterford notched baseball wins on Saturday with Connor Houle throwing his second no-hitter of the season in the Fordians victory.

Waterford 2  Cambridge 0

Winning Pitcher:  Connor Houle 6 K’s

Leading Hitters:  Fordians – Mike Castracani 2B, RBI    Michael Talavera 2-3, 3B, RBI

Summary:  Cambridge’s Nate Woodworth tossed a complete game, four-hitter and on many days that type of effort will get you a “W”.  Houle however blanked the Indians while fanning six in throwing his second no-no, giving Waterford the win and with it a bid in the sectional tournament.

 

Saratoga Catholic 11  Stillwater 2

Winning Pitcher:  Kaden Learch 7 IP, 4 Hits, 8 K’s

Leading Hitters:  Saints – Zac Cronk 4-5, 2 2B’s, 4 RBI’s    Nick Winslow 2-3, 2B    Dante Marin 3-4, RBI    Jake Hart 2-3, 2 RBI’s     Warriors – John Tedesco 2B, 2 RBI’s

Summary:  Stillwater plated two in the first to take the early lead, but the Saints scored in five of the last six frames to earn their 11th win in 12 league outings.

Winning Pitcher:  Helen Smith 2-hit shutout

Leading Hitters:  Witches – Sabrina Whitehouse 2B    Eliza Jordan 2B    Courtney Fraher 2B    Devin Drew 2B    Kaylee Ciccarone 2B        Mayfield – Taryn Lafontaine 2B
