Raiders Fall to Black Horses

Schuylerville 5  Mechanicville 3:  In a see saw battle at Schuylerville on Tuesday the home squad scored a pair of goals late in the second half, just 70 seconds apart to secure the well earned “W” over the Raiders in a nonleague match.

Mike Lanfear got things started for Black Horses, finding the range at the 19:50 mark of the first half, but Mechanicville tied things just before intermission when Drew Murphy found the back of the net knotting the score at 1-1.

The Horses jumped out to a two goal advantage early in the second half on scores from Christian Petralia and Jared Gregorek, both coming off Lanfear finds.

But Mechanicville answered with strikes from Kevin Charette and Jeff Luce, the second coming at the 21:57 mark off a pretty Rocco DeVito feed.

The 3-3 deadlock was broken with 14:41 left in the match when Lanfear again found the range, and Matt McCarthy did likewise at the 13:20 mark to end the scoring and notch the victory for Schuylerville.

Between the posts Mechanicville’s Tyler Kraszewski saved three shots for the Raiders while Brandon Craft turned back five shots for the Black Horses.
