Boys Basketball; Raiders Top Warriors

The Red Raiders of Mechanicville started fast, leading 14-3 after the first eight minutes, and finished strong with a 15-7 advantage over the final frame in posting a 60-50 victory over the Warriors of Stillwater Tuesday night in Mechanicville.

Kendrick McCann with 16 points and Josh Germaine with 11 led the Raiders who bottomed six 3-pointers in the game, and move to 3-0 on the year with the “W”.

Cooper Monast netted 11 points and Brian McNeil added 10 for Stillwater ( 3-1), who scored nearly half of their points from long range knocking back eight triples on the night.

 

After trailing early Cambridge caught, passed, and pulled away from Waterford notching a 52-37 decision over the Fordians.

Waterford jumped out to a 16-13 lead after the first period but the Indians led 29-22 at the half and never looked back.

Brenden Holcomb scored a game-high 25 points including three makes from deep, part of the eight 3-pointers Cambridge connected on in the contest.

Joe Talarera scored 13 points and Joe Panetta scored 10 points to pace the Fordians.

 

Schalmont used a 33-22 advantage over the middle two periods to get past the Panthers of Hoosick Falls 60-55 in Schalmont on Tuesday.

Nick Boyd with 17 points and Mike Tommasone with 14 led the Schalmont attack.

Jonathon Kempf scored 20 points to lead the Panthers who had 11 players score points in the loss.
