In a game played Wednesday night, the Mechanicville girls ability to score the ball was on full display as the Red Raiders rolled to a 76-42 victory over neighboring Stillwater.
The Warriors held a 18-16 advantage after the first period, but over the next two quarters Mechanicville put 48 points on the board including a 29 point effort in the second.
Leading the assault was senior guard Sammy Pasinella who dropped 31 points including five makes from deep. Sophomore guard Charli Goverski poured in 18 points and junior forward Taylor Grayson added 11 points with a trio of triples.
The Raiders bottomed nine 3-pointers on the night, continuing to show their long range prowess early in the season.
Marley Mueller led the Stillwater attack with eight points and Madison McCoy added seven for the Warriors who go to 2-2 on the year with the loss.
Mechanicville improves to 3-0 on the season and tonight will host the undefeated Bengals of Tamarac in a game that can be heard right here on Wasaren Sportsnet with the pregame starting at 7:25 for the 7:30 tip.
