Three more Wasaren squads advanced to the semifinal round in their respective classes of the Section II tourney on Saturday.  In Class C boys the Panthers of Hoosick Falls, and in Class B girls Mechanicville and Tamarac earned quarterfinal victories and will continue their pursuit of a sectional title this week in final four runs.

Hoosick Falls 70  Greenville 51

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – CJ Baker 18      Jonathan Kempf 18      Guy Milliman 15     Greenville – Cole Ackerman 11

Key Points:  Hoosick Falls exploded for 27 second quarter points to take full control and cruised to the comfortable win over Greenville.  The Panthers, as always, showed scoring balance with three players in doubles, as they notch their 14th straight “W” with the victory.

Mechanicville 78  Hudson 39

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Charli Goverski 23     Sammy Pasinella 19     Taylor Grayson 10      Hudson – Shayna Coopersmithe 8

Key Points:  The Raiders high powered attack was firing on all cylinders, scoring 65 points over the first three periods in doubling up Greenville.  Mechanicville bottomed six triples, placed three players in doubles, and nine in the scorebook in advancing to the Class B final four.

Tamarac 47  Glens Falls 39

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Emily Erickson 21      Renna Poulin 13       Glens Falls – Anna Bayle 17

Key Points:  The Bengals outscored Glens Falls 29-19 over the middle two periods with Erickson’s 21 point effort leading the way for Tamarac who with the victory extend their winning streak to 11.
