Greenwich 3 Stillwater 2 OT: Charlie Gartner scored his second goal of the match with 2:00 left in the first overtime, giving Greenwich the narrow victory over the visitors from Stillwater.
The Witches broke on top when Liam Kelleher connected on a penalty kick midway through the first half, but with 10:00 remaining in the half the Warriors Harry Rubenstein, off a Jake Zdonick throw-in found the range to tie things at 1-1.
Gartner’s first goal coming just before intermission gave Greenwich the 2-1 advantage heading into the break.
With 15:00 left in regulation Stillwater’s Grant Baker found the back of the net forcing the extra session and the eventual game-winner by Gartner.
With the victory Greenwich improves to 2-0, 2-0, while Stillwater with the loss slips to 1-1, 3-1.
Saratoga Catholic 8 Berlin 0: The Saints rang the bell eight times in the first half of play in a dominant “W” over the Mountaineers.
Dante Marin with four goals, and Nick Condry with three led the Spa Catholic assault and Saints keeper Gabe Colin saved eight shots to earn the shutout.
