The Granville Golden Horde went to halftime trailing the visitors from Greenwich 10-8 as the Witches looked to capture their first win of the season. Their search for that “W” will continue as the Horde dominated play after the break scoring 20 unanswered points to earn the 28-10 victory on Saturday.
Horde running backs Logan Swain and Taylor Bourn ran for second half touchdowns highlighting 100 yard rushing efforts from both players. Granville quarterback Nick Andrus added a 7-yard scoring run in the fourth quarter in addition to finding Bourn on a 9-yard touchdown connection in the first period.
Greenwich scored first in the contest when quarterback Jesse Kuzmich found John Walsh on a 28-yard scoring strike, and a 22-yard field goal in the second period by Chris Albrecht gave the Witches the slim lead at intermission.
With the win Granville improves to 2-1 on the season while Greenwich drops to 0-3 with the loss.
