A pair of Wasaren teams were in action on Monday with the Tamarac girls and the Stillwater boys taking the floor in non-league contests.

Tamarac 66  Mohonasen 62

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Emily Erickson 29      Lizzie Machnick 14          Mohon – Breanna Lott 23     Kateri Vumbaco 19     Megan Hart 11

Key Stat:  Tied after three periods of play Tamarac used an 18-14 advantage in the fourth to turn back a tough Mohan squad and notch the season-opening “W”.

Take Away:  Opening night for many teams is a challenge offensively.  Not the case here as Tamarac puts 66 on the board against a good opponent with Erickson handing Mohon 29, leading eight Bengal players in the scoring column.  Now a 10 day wait before their next run, an away get together with the Indians of Cambridge.

Cohoes 48  Stillwater 45

Leading Scorers:  Tigers – Ivan Brajac 11      Josh Milligan 11       Warriors – Brian McNeil 15     Mason Seymour 12     Cooper Monast 10

Key Stat:  Stillwater built a 27-18 lead over the first two quarters but a 14-5 third period evened things and the Tigers went on to post the come from behind victory.

Take Away:  Three players in doubles is a good sign for the Warriors who will return to action on Thursday night when they’ll face Bishop Maginn in Stillwater.
