Friday night saw the Wasaren in full swing with a full schedule of boys and girls action where close contests were few and far between.

Girls

Hoosick Falls 67  Berlin 13

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Logan Thayne 15       Lillian Hickey 13                 Mountaineers – Kaley Culberston 5

Key Stat:  Eleven Panthers score in the one-sided victory as the Falls moves to 3-0 with the win.

 

Mechanicville 75  Saratoga Catholic 21

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Amy DiSiena 12      Gianna Cavotta 11      A.J. Joseph 10      Chloe Goverski 10          Saints – Ashley Upson 7

Key Stat:  The Raiders place four in doubles, with 10 players scoring as Mechanicville coasts to their second win in three outings.

 

Hoosic Valley 53  Greenwich 38

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Sami Dickinson 13       Emaleigh Peckham 11          Witches – Molly Brophy 16

Key Stat:  The Valley outscored Greenwich 34-13 over the middle two periods to earn the victory and improve to 4-1 on the season.

 

Boys

Greenwich 57  Hoosic Valley 42

Leading Scorers:  Witches – John Walsh 16      Alex Curtis 14       Indians – Isaac Carlo 14      Zach Ryan 10

Key Stat:  The Witches led 14-2 at the quarter and 30-11 at the half, using that cushion to win for the fourth time in as many tries.

 

Hoosick Falls 89  Berlin 35

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Tristan Williams 26      Jon Kempf 25       Isiah Burnett 15      Brennan Andrew 10          Mountaineers – Malachi Ritter 17

Key Stat:  The Panthers won every quarter, placing four in doubles in cruising to their season-opening “W”.

 

Mechanicville 67  Saratoga Catholic 34

Leading Scorers:  Raiders – Tyler Dion 14      Josh Germaine 12      Luciano D’Ambro 11      Saints – Tim Barrett 7

Key Stat:  A 19-1 first period set the tone for the Raider romp as they bottom seven triples, and put nine players in the scoring column in moving to 2-0 on the young season.

 

Tamarac 80  Cambridge 39

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Frank Zotto 19      Anthony Ciampolillo 15      Dalton Maxon 12 Indians – Ben Epler 12      Nick Murphy 10      Jeff Burke 10

Key Stat:  Tamarac scored 47 points over the middle two periods to put this one away and improve to 2-0 on the year.

 

Stillwater 51  Waterford 29

Leading Scorers:  Warriors – Josh Luca 21      Grant Baker 12        Fordians – Bobby Valigorski 13

Key Stat:  The Warriors won every quarter in steadily pulling away from Waterford and even their season mark at 1-1.
