It was a full slate of action in the league Friday night as the regular season heads into it’s final two weeks of the year.

Girls

Cambridge 61  Spa Catholic 24

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Lily Phillips 14         Fiona Mooney 14          Sophie Philips 12     Saints – Ashley Upson 5

Key Stat:  Cambridge to a 21-3 first quarter lead and never looked back, drilling eight treys on the night in posting the easy victory over Spa Catholic.

 

Mechanicville 67  Hoosick Falls 49

Leading Scorers:  Red Raiders – Charli Goverski 25        Amy DiSiena 12        Jada Brown 10 Panthers – Logan Thayne 21           Grace Wysocki 11

Key Stat:  The Raiders started well and finished strong outscoring the Falls 37-17 in the first and final periods combined, led by Goverski who was 9 of 17 from the floor including 3 of 6 from deep.

 

Hoosic Valley 57  Tamarac 46

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Alex Rifenburg 27       Sami Dickinson 11        Bengals – Emily Erickson 26        Kate Machnick 10

Key Stat:  In a game that saw each team with five players scoring, and both squads connecting on six 3-pointers, the Valley used a 32-23 advantage over the final two periods to notch the road “W” over Tamarac.

 

Boys

Tamarac 56  Hoosic Valley 49

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Bo Catherwood 17        Anthony Ciampolillo 12        Frank Zotto 14          Indians – Derek Eddy 13        CJ Bassett 12

Key Stat:  The game started with both teams knocking down a pair of triples, and it stayed close throughout the first half of play with the Valley holding a 24-23 lead at the break.  With 4:10 remaining in the third and the Indians leading by five at 33-28, the Bengals went on an 18-3 run to finish the period and take a 46-36 advantage into the fourth.  The Valley closed late, and had a pair of possessions trailing by two but couldn’t come all the way back as Tamarac closed out the well-earned victory in Schaghticoke.

 

Waterford 98  Berlin 64

Leading Scorers:  Fordians –  TJ Kelley 27      Michael Talavera 21         Bobby Valigorski 15  Mountaineers – Malachi Ritter 23         Ronan Cane 10       Cody Hunt 10        Kasey Billert 10

Key Stat:  The Fordians hung 50 on the board in the first half, backed that with a 27 point third, coasting to the easy road win at Berlin.

 

Stillwater 66  Greenwich 56

Leading Scorers:  Warriors – Brian McNeil 31           Scott Travis 17         Witches – Carson Mosher 13          Luke Pemrick 12            John Walsh 12         Jesses Kuzmich 11

Key Stat:  Tied at 43 all heading to the final frame, the Warriors outscored Greenwich 23-13 in the fourth to post the victory in Stillwater.

 

Cambridge 44  Spa Catholic 40

Leading Scorers:  Indians – Brian Hall 18        Nick Murphy 14        Jeffrey Burke 11     Saints – Jordan Catone 16        Ryan McCarroll 11

Key Stat:  Hall, Murphy and Burke provided all but one point of the Cambridge offense and it as just enough to turn back the Saints and secure the home “W”.

 

Hoosick Falls 76  Mechanicville 53

Leading Scorers: Panthers – Jon Kempf 28        Tristan Williams 24        Max Kipp 13    Red Raiders – Josh Germaine 20

Key Stat:  Mechanicville buried five triples in the first period and held a 23-13 lead after one, but the Falls responded, outscoring the Raiders 40-18 over the next two quarters, to take control, on their way to the victory, the Panthers 49th straight in Wasaren competition.
