Basketball Season Wrap-Up

Another high school basketball season goes in the books, and it was a good winter campaign in the Wasaren with quality girls and boys teams enjoying a competitive regular season and faring well in post season play, culminating with the Cambridge girls winning a state title Saturday night in Troy.

Wasaren Sportsnet broadcasted 15 games this year including the league championships, and I would like to thank our three satellite schools and their athletic directors for welcoming me into their gymnasiums.

Mechanicville’s Bob Young, Hoosic Valley’s Paula Lanoue, and Cambridge’s Deb Lauver were all so accommodating, helping me set up throughout the season, and it was much appreciated.

Also thanks to the coaches who sent me game results and responded to the preseason questionnaire regarding their team and the upcoming year.  Again, much appreciated.

So as another enjoyable basketball year comes to a close we’ll look ahead, as spring sports will soon take center stage, with games scheduled to be played before the end of the month.
