Hitting Stars:  Fordians – Michael Talavera 2-3, 2B, 3B, 3 RBI’s      Mike Castracani 3-5, 2      2B’s, 4 RBI’s       Indians – Hall 2-5, 4 RBI’s

Cambridge, after a 10 run fifth frame led 10-1, but the Fordians scored 11 times over the final three innings including three in the bottom of the seventh to pull out the come-from-behind “W”.

Winning Pitcher:  Evan Webster

Hitting Stars: Panthers – Jake Sparks 2 1B’s, Grand Slam, 5 RBI’s      Cody Hodges 2-run 2B     Isaac Humphrey 2-run 2B        Bengals – Jake Danaher 2B

Sparks, just an eighth-grader led the Falls attack that hung crooked numbers in four of the five innings in the victory.

 

Spa Catholic 8  Hoosic Valley 0

Winning Pitcher:  Terel Tillman 7 IP I Hit 1 BB 16 K’s

Hitting Stars:  Saints – Terel Tillman 1B, 2 RBI’s      Dante Marin 1B, 2 RBI’s     Dylan Custer 1B, RBI        Indians – Kessler Waldron 1B

Tillman carried a no-hitter into the seventh before a two- out single by Waldron broke up the no-hit bid.

 

Softball

Hoosic Valley 2  Spa Catholic 1 (10 innings)

Winning Pitcher:  Scofield 10 IP  8 Hits 1 Run 15 K’s

Pitching Stars: Scofield and Spa’s Molly O’Reilly, 9 IP 4 Hits 1 Run, dueled through nine before the Valley pushed across the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.

 

Greenwich 14  Berlin

Winning Pitcher:  Lily McCauliffe No-hitter with 14 K’s

Hitting Stars:  Witches – Lauren Maines 1B, 2 2B’s, 5 RBI’s       Lily McCauliffe 2 1B’s, 2 RBI’s

McCauliffe throws the No-No as Greenwich moves to 2-0 on the year.

 

Cambridge 9  Waterford 3

Winning Pitcher:  Sydney Benson

Hitting Stars:  Indians – Sarah Harper 3 1B’s, RBI        Rhiannon Darling 1B, RBI

A five-run third inning gave the Indians control, and Cambridge closed things out for the victory in their season-opener.

 

Hoosick Falls 4  Tamarac 2

Hitting Stars:  Falls – Olivia Brownell 1-3, 2B       Sophie Estes 1-4 RBI

The Panthers scored single runs in each of the final four frames to earn the “W” over the Bengals .
