A year ago the Stillwater girls calling card was a high powered attack that fueled the Warriors run to a state championship. On the turf yesterday in Stillwater it appears very little has changed.
Stillwater opened their season in style with their offensive prowess on full display shredding Schenectady 11-0.
Four Warriors scored multiple goals led by Broke Pickett’s four goal effort. Paige Brinsko, Teya Staie and Kylee Peacock all added a pair of scores with Devon Wagner’s goal rounding out the Stillwater scoring.
Stillwater keeper Kiersten Conroy saved three shots to earn the shutout, while her counterpart Nicollette Gauf turned back 14 Stillwater shots.
On the boys side of things the result was much the same in an 11-1 defeat of Bolton/Warrensburg, that saw four Warriors score and seven different players pick up assists.
Grant Baker led the Stillwater assault with four goals, with Jack Rubenstein adding three, and Harry Rubenstein and Issac Cutler both finding the range twice to round out the Warrior’s attack.
Dante Corrireau scored the visitors lone goal on a second half strike.
