The Witches Charlie Gartner scored a hat trick leading Greenwich past Glens Falls 4-1 in a season-opener for both teams on Saturday.
Glens Falls broke on top, just four minutes into the match on a Cyrus Guillet goal, but :20 later Gartner found the range off an AJ Rymph find to even the score at 1-1.
Liam Niesz gave Greenwich the lead on an unassisted strike at the 32:00 mark and the Witches took the 2-1 advantage to the break.
Gartner’s second and third goals came early in the second half giving the Witches complete control as Greenwich keeper Andres Gonzalez ( 5 saves ), and the Witches defense closed things out for the home “W”.
