Boys Soccer

Mechanicville 2  Tamarac 1:  In a tight game throughout the Red Raiders Tyler Tesoriero converted on a penalty kick late in the second half for the game-winner.

Mechanicville scored first in the match when Andrew Krasewski found Tesoriero who finished for the 1-0 advantage, a lead the Raiders took to halftime.

After the break, Tamarac’s Dylan Bricetti drove home a penalty kick with 22:00 remaining to tie things, setting up Tesorierio’s difference-maker.

Zach White saved five shots for Mechanicville, while Tamarac’s keeper Tyler Nemjo turned back 17 shots for the Bengals.

 

Stillwater 9  Spa Catholic 0:  In a 1-0 match at the break, the Warriors scored eight times after intermission in coasting to the easy “W” over the Saints.

Grant Baker and Isaac Cutler both enjoyed three goal games, while Harry Rubenstein, Tyler Juliano and Brandon DeBacco all added single strikes for Stillwater.

The Warriors improve to 1-1, 4-1 with the win, while Spa Catholic slips to 0-2, 2-2-1 with the loss.

 

Greenwich 1  Cambridge 1:  Both match goals came in the first 29 minutes of play after which defense ruled the day with the two teams battling to the 1-1 tie.

The Witches Al Rymph gave the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 19th minute, and just ten minutes later Tyler Galarneau, off a Ty Plumley feed, answered for the Indians.

Between the posts Jack Houle saved nine for Waterford, (1-0-1, 3-0-1), and Greenwich’s Andres Gonzalez turned back 10 for the 1-0-1, 5-1-1 Witches.

 

Golf

Greenwich 4  Mechanicville 1:  In action at the Mechanicville Golf Course Jake Owens fired the low round of 39 leading the Witches to the win over the Raiders.

Patrick McFee, Darren Pemrick and Tyler Larmon all posted individual match wins for Greenwich, while Mechanicville’s Zach Hartz earned the Raider point with a win in flight two.

The Witches improve to 7-2 on the year, while Mechanicville slips to 4-6.

 

Girls Soccer

Tamarac 2  Hoosick Falls 1 ( Monday):  Taylor Smith and Bre Eversten both found the range with scoring strikes to lead the Bengals past the Panthers in action on Monday.

Marley McLellan tallied for Hoosick Falls.
