Monday Results; Warriors Top Red Raiders

Girls Soccer

Stillwater 5  Mechanicville 1:  In a 1-1 game at the break, Stillwater scored four unanswered in the second half to secure the victory over Mechanicville.

The Red Raiders got on the board first when Bryn Murphy connected for the 1-0 Mechanicville lead.

Brooke Pickett’s tally tied things before intermission, after which Stillwater dominated the match.

Pickett added two more scoring strikes, and Teya Staie also found the back of the net twice for the 1-0, 5-0-1 Warriors.

Mechanicville, with the loss slips to 0-1, 1-3 on the season.

 

Cambridge 1  Greenwich 0:   A second half goal by Cambridge’s Vanesa Evans, proved the difference in the Indians in over Greenwich in Cambridge on Monday.

Evans took a feed from Sydney Benson and chipped the ball over the Greenwich keeper for the game winner and the Indians moved to 1-0, 1-2  in the early season.

Greenwich goes to 0-1, 2-2-1 with the defeat.

 

Golf

Mechanicville 5  Waterford 0:  In match played at Mechanicville Golf Course on Monday, Zach Hartz with a round of 42 led the way in the Red Raiders sweep of Waterford.

Anthony Fiacco, Joey Manzer, Andrew Sgambati, and Jack Salvadore all earned points for the Red Raider squad who improve to 4-5 on the year.

 

Tamarac 4  Stillwater 1:  Michael Jacques carded the low round of 44, leading the Bengals past the Warriors in a match played at Saratoga Lake Golf Club.

Zach Krill, Colby Phelps and Nate Krill all notched wins for Tamarac, while Aaron Lyons picked up the Stillwater point in flight five.

Tamarac with the win goes to 4-5, while Waterford at 0-9 continues to search for their first win of the year.
