Boys Soccer; Mechanicville Tops Greenwich

Mechanicville 5 Greenwich 0: The two Wasaren divisional leaders met in Greenwich on Thursday afternoon, and the Red Raider freight train continued to rumble down tracks, shutting out the Witches and extending their unbeaten streak in league play to 62 games.

Andrew Kraszewski scored a hat trick, Wyqie Aguda tallied twice, while Colin McNutt dished out a trio of assists to lead the Raiders’ attack.

Dylan Raucci and the Mechanicville defense combined for the shutout, the Red Raiders fifth, in eight outings this season.

Greenwich keeper Owen Keech saved 14 shots in the match for the Witches who with the loss, slip to 5-3 on the year.

Tamarac 7 Stillwater 1: The Bengals saw five players find the back of the net in posting the decisive victory over the Warriors in Stillwater on Thursday night.

Rocco DiCarlo and Alex Basset with two goals apiece, and Xander Gliosco, Jaiden Maloney and Justin Heinrichs with single scoring strikes led the Bengals offense.

Stillwater avoided the shutout, when Harry Rubenstein connected on a direct kick from 25 yards out.

Hoosic Valley 2 Berlin/New Lebanon 1: After a scoreless first half of play, Logan Reilly finished for both goals, off finds from Tyler Eddy and Tyler Cavert in the Valley’s road “W”, moving their season’s mark to 5-3.

Reilly connected early in the second half off a beautiful cross from Eddy, and after the Mountaineers evened things, midway thru the half, it was Reilly again finding the back of the net with the deciding tally.
