Take Away:  In a game played at Chapko Park in Valley Falls, junior Jake Sparks threw five strong innings and the Panthers plated 10 runs over the first three frames, fueling the Falls season-opening “W”.

Take Away:  The Valley used a 7-spot in the third frame to take control, in a game that saw the Indians rip 18 hits and King throw four dominant innings, leading Schaghticoke squad to the season-opening victory, in Berlin on Saturday.

Take Away:  In a 2-0 game headed to the bottom of the fourth, Waterford plated three run in the fourth and added a six-run fifth, to secure the home “W” over Berne-Knox on Friday.

 

Saratoga Catholic 5   Waterford 3

Hitting Stars:  Saints – Ronan Rowe 3-3 IB, HR, 2 RBI’s     Pierce Byrne 2B, 2 RBI’s     Charlie Greiner 2 IB’s RBI   3 IP o runs o hits i BB 5 K’s     Fordians – Jack Gilbert 1-3 run scored

Take Away:  Rowe and Greiner combine for a one-hitter in the Saints season-opening win at Kelts Field on Saturday.  

 

Softball

Stillwater 25   Waterford 1

Hitting Stars:  Warriors – C Salecker 1B, 2B, 6 RBI’s     J. Bouleris 3 IB’s, 4 RBI’s     P. Morris 2B, 3 RBI’s

Take Away:  Stillwater took control with eight runs in the second frame and Resch shut down the Waterford attack as the Warriors cruised to the easy victory on Friday.
