Take Away:  Leading 3-1 after four frames, Stillwater plated 10 runs over the final three innings to notch the road win over the Fordians.

Hitting Stars:  Valley – Brown 4-5, 3 runs scored                             Mountaineers – D. Saviano 1-3, RBI

Take Away:  King shuts down the Mountaineers attack and the Valley bats rattle for 17 scores in the one-sided road “W”.

 

Taconic Hills 13   Greenwich 5

Hitting Stars:  TC – Troy Super, Zach Rowe, Brandon Rossano and Tyler Peck all multiple hit games         Witches – Ryan Ingber and Robert Barnes two hits each

Take Away:  Taconic Hills took the lead in the second and held it throughout in posting the nonleague win over the Witches. 

 

Hoosick Falls 13   Mechanicville 9 

WP:  Ben Smith        LP:  Zach Pingelski 

Hitting Stars:  Panthers –  Jake Sparks 2 2B’s, 2 RBI’s          Andrew Sparks 3 RBI’s        AJ Brown 1B, 4 runs scored           Red Raiders – Scott Lynch 3B, 3-run HR             Joie Devito 1B, 2B, 2 RBI’s

Take Away:  In a game played at Schenectady’s Central Park A Diamond as part of a Coaches vs. Cancer event, the Falls broke a 3-3 tie with three runs in the fourth and extended their advantage with a six-run fifth, on their way to the “W” in the high-scoring contest.  With the win the Panthers improve to 2-5 on the year while Mechanicville suffers their first loss of the season and moves to 7-1 overall.  

 

Softball

Tamarac 3   Shaker 2

WP:  Moria Collins 10 IP 2 Runs 2 Hits 9 K’s                       LP:  Hannah Hipwell 10 IP 3 Runs 6 Hits 7 K’s

Hitting Stars:  Bengals – Toni DeLorenzo 2-5, game-winning RBI

Take Away:  In a matchup that needed 10 innings to decide, Toni DeLorenzo ripped an RBI single in the top of the 10th frame, giving Tamarac a 3-2 lead and Collins, and the Bengal “D” closed things out in the bottom half for the nonleague win over the Blue Bison of Shaker. With the win Tamarac improves to 3-0, 4-0 on the season.
