Take Away:  The defending state champions handle their business behind a strong outing from Mullen who throws the two-hitter, fan’s nine and goes deep at the plate.  Every player in the Greenwich lineup hit safely with four players enjoying multiple hit afternoons.  With the win the third seeded Witches advance to face #6 Warrensburg who defeated Duanesburg 7-0 in round one.

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley ran out to an 8-1 lead after three and cruised to the upset victory over Lake George in round one of the Class C Section II tournament.  The Valley parlayed 13 walks and six hits into 10 runs and the twelfth seeded Indians move to round two where they’ll take on Bewrne-Knox who shutout out Voorheesville 9-0 in round one.

Hitting Stars:  Warriors – Eden Resch 1-2, 3B, RBI

Take Away:  Stillwater managed just one hit in the game, a triple by Resch, but slip past Galway in the Class C opening round.  Next up for the # 7 Warriors is # 2 Whitehall, 6-0 winners over Granville in round one.
