Take Away: In a battle between the top two seeds in Class C Spa Catholic rides a dominant outing from Byrne to the win, earning their section straight section two title. Both hits Byrne allowed came in the first frame, but the Saints turned a double play to keep Maple Hill off the board and Byrne and the Saints defense shut the door the rest of the way.

Spa Catholic scored a lone run in the third on a Pescetti run-scoring single and added another tally in the sixth when Desnozka doubled in a run.

With the win the defending state champion Saints advance to regional play.

Hoosick Falls advances to the championship game on Saturday at Lansingburgh facing top-seeded Chatham in a 1:30 start.
