Tamarac/Hoosick Falls 28 Fonda 21

In a back-and-forth game that saw seven lead changes, T/HF used an Austin Cavanaugh touchdown run late in the final frame to earn the Class C semifinal win over Fonda.

Fonda held a 7-0 advantage after the first period of play that T/HF erased in the second quarter on a pair of touchdown strikes from Grant Glover, connecting with Chase Glover from 12 yards out and Porter Driscoll for 28 yards, giving the Wildcats a 14-7 lead at the break.

Fonda responded early in the third knotting things at 14-14 on a 2-yard run before T/HF closed the period with a Grant Glover 46-yard scoring run and the Wildcats took a 21-14 lead into the fourth.

Once again Fonda pulled even, this time on a 34-yard pass play, setting up Cavanaugh’s game-winning score from one yard out sending T/HF to the Class C championship game next weekend.

Grant Glover finished the game 12-17 for 150 yards with a pair of touchdown strikes while rushing for 85 yards on 18 carries with a score.

Chase Glover led the Wildcat receivers with six catches for 60 yards and a touchdown with Driscoll adding a pair of receptions for 67 yards and a score.

T/HF will face Schuylerville, 48-6 winners over Cobleskill in their semifinal, next Saturday at Shenendehowa
