Greenwich, Spa Catholic Continue to Roll

cropped-baseball_002.jpg

While the perception is that it’s still early in the baseball/softball season, the reality is many Wasaren clubs have a third of their regular season schedule already in the books.

The baseball teams from Greenwich and Saratoga Catholic have played six contests thus far, and both have posted victories every time out, each adding a “W” on Saturday which by far provided the best weather conditions of the spring.

April wins count the same as May victories and the Saints and Witches 6-0 starts are impressive runs whether it’s early, late or somewhere in between.

Here’s a closer look at how Saturday’s game played out.

Saratoga Catholic 17  Cambridge 0

Winning Pitcher:  Dante Marin  4 IP  1 Hit  0 Runs

Hitting Stars:  Saints – Kaden Learch 3-3, 2B, 4 RBI’s     Nick Winslow 3-3, 2 2B’s, 3 RBI’s     Tyler Haraden 2-4, 2B, 3 RBI’s     Dylan Custer 2-5, RBI

Another day, another “W” for the Saints following the blueprint they’ve played to most of the spring. Get quality pitching, on this day limiting Cambridge to one hit, and offensively run out a lineup that pounds the baseball, hitters one thru nine.  That lineup ripped 14 hits on Saturday in just four innings of work as the Saints rolled to their sixth straight win.   Continue reading
