Key Stat: Greenwich put 45 points on the board before the break and added 28 more in the third period in cruising to their second win of the year.
Taka Away: The Witches in two outings are scoring 80 points per contest with Molly Brophy dropping 34 and 38 points to lead the attack. A good test for the Greenwich offense comes on Friday night when they’ll travel to Schaghticoke to face the Indians of Hoosic Valley.

Leading Scorers: Witches – John Walsh 25 Jesse Kuzmich 15 Carson Mosher 12 (game -winning three) Malone – Poirier 19 Fountain 16 Sivan 12
Key Stat: The lines were good to Greenwich who converted on 14 of 20 free throws and knocked down seven triples including Mosher’s game-winner with two seconds remaining in regulation as Greenwich moves to 3-0 on the season.
Take Away: Some nice balance and big numbers for Greenwich. Three double figure scorers in Walsh, Mosher and Kuzmich with 13 of Kuzmich’s 15 points coming in the second half. Walsh added 10 boards, Mosher nine, and Luke Pemrick nearly had a triple double with eight points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.
A handful of league teams ran the floor on Friday night, the majority playing non-league opponents with the Wasaren schedule set to begin next week.

Key Stat: How about a 31 point quarter in your season-opener. Back that with an 18 point second period and Cambridge has half a hundred on the board at the half. Lily Phillips knocks down five triples and 23 points before the break, all leading to Cambridge facing Cooperstown this afternoon in the championship game of the Delaware Academy Tip-Off Tournament.
Take Away: The Indians are a young squad with three sophomores in the starting lineup. That trio combined for 53 points and 10 made threes, and this team as the season unfolds will only get better. Continue reading
A trio of Wasaren girls squads played in non-league runs on Thursday night with the Witches of Greenwich opening their season in impressive fashion.

Leading Scorers: Witches – Molly Brophy 34 Marquita Gutasy 13 Tess Merrill 10 Galway – Beth Rapapi 9
Key Stat: Greenwich backed a 15-3 first period with a 16-6 advantage in the second, taking a 22 point cushion into the break and coasted to the season-opening win from there.
Take Away: Brophy hands Galway 34 leading a Witches attack that puts 72 points on the board their first time out. While Wasaren competition will be stronger, Greenwich will be a handful for anyone. Continue reading
