Girls Soccer; Raiders Turn Back the Panthers

Mechanicville 7  Hoosick Falls 1:  The Red Raiders took control with four first half strikes in notching the victory over the Panthers to complete an unbeaten regular season.

Boduch Advances to Second Round

Greenwich’s Reed Boduch advanced to the second round of play after firing an 80 on Tuesday in the opening round of the Section II State Golf Qualifier at Orchard Creek Golf Club.

The Greenwich junior tied for 12th place out of the 20 golfers that advanced after Tuesday’s round.

The top 11 golfers after Thursday’s second round will secure a spot on the Section II team that will compete in the State Boys Golf Championship in June at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Course in Ithaca.

Friday Night Football; Witches Win, Panthers, Bengals Fall

Greenwich 42  Whitehall 3:  After a 28-yard field goal from Whitehall’s Nick Kennedy trimmed the Greenwich lead to 7-3 early in the second period, Witches QB Cole Burgess took over.

Burgess scored on an 85-yard kickoff return, and runs of 80 and 4 yards before the break giving Greenwich control and a 28-3 halftime lead, on their way to the easy victory over the Railroaders. Continue reading

Mechanicville 3  Stillwater 0:  Mackenzie Bowie scored a pair of goals to lead Mechanicville past the Warriors in Stillwater on Friday.

Nevaeh D’Alioa added a scoring strike, Madeline Garone picked up two assists, and Savannah Bowie with eight saves earned the shutout victory for Mechanicville who improve to 9-0-1 on the season with the “W”. Continue reading

Mechanicville 8  Berlin 4:  Jeff Luce scored four goals to led the Red Raiders to the victory over Berlin on a hot, summer day in late September.

Connor Keegan, Zach Rapaccioulo, Chris Ciccarelli, and Mike Cavotta all found the back of the net in the match for Mechanicville who see their season mark improve to 9-0, 9-1. Continue reading
