Take Away:  Stillwater puts four in doubles and 83 points on the board in cruising to their sixth straight win to start the season.  

Bethlehem 56   Hoosic Valley 53

Key Stat:  Bethlehem connected on 12 of 16 free throws, while the Valley converted 4 of 9. 

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley played the AA Bethlehem squad tough throughout and trailed by just a point, 45-44 entering the final frame where Bethlehem held on for the home win. 

Mayfield 56   Cambridge 52

Leading Scorers:  Mayfield – Cloey Dopp 29, 4 3’s    Brianna Ianuzzi 13       Cambridge – Ashley Moses 16   Nicole LaFountain 13   Claire Toleman 11

Key Stat:  Mayfield held a 7-1 edge in made threes.

Take Away:  Trailing by 10 mid-ways thru the fourth period, Cambridge cut the deficit to 52-50 with :40 remaining before Dopp drained some clutch free throws giving Mayfield the narrow, home “W”.  

Saratoga Catholic 75   Greenwich 47

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Tyler Hicks 21   Ryan Gillis 20   Hunter Fales 12         Witches – Cal Curtis 13

Key Stat:  Spa Catholic outscored the Witches 37-15 after the break.

Take Away:   The Saints used three players in doubles and a big second half to post the road victory and move to 4-3 on the year.

Mechanicville 60   Tamarac 54

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Colin Richardson 26, 3 3’s   Cruz Goverski 12   Jacob Eiseman 12          Bengals – Adam Rice 32

Key Stat:  Mechanicville built a lead with a 17-6 third frame. 

Take Away:  In a game that was knotted 31-all at halftime, Mechanicville used a good third quarter to gain some breathing room and then held off the Bengals for the home “W”.  With the victory Mechanicville goes to 5-1 on the season while Tamarac slips to 3-4 with the loss.  

Hoosick Falls 66   Hoosic Valley 53

Key Stat:  Hoosick Falls held a 14-3 advantage in made threes.  

Take Away:  The Falls, leading 29-28 at intermission slowly pulled away in the second half capping the win with an 18-10 fourth period.  Ten Panthers scored, with seven connecting from downtown in the road win that moves the Falls to 5-3 on the season.  

Mechanicville 44   Stillwater 38

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Sophia Tamasi 15          Stillwater – Andie Luskin 13   Maddie Chott 11   Miranda Price 11

Key Stat:  Mechanicville outscored their guests 18-12 in the third frame.

Take Away:  In a close game throughout where the biggest lead was eight points, Mechanicville broke a halftime deadlock with an 18-point third quarter and held off Stillwater over the final eight minutes to earn the home “W”.  With the win Mechanicville improves to 7-1 on the year while Stillwater with the loss moves to 5-2.  

Greenwich 77   Hoosick Falls 47

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Brooke Kuzmich 35, 5 3’s   Adrianna Rojas 17   Grace Autiello 14, 3 3’s       Panthers – Ava Case 20 

Key Stat:  Greenwich blitzed the Falls with a 28-5 first period.

Take Away:  Greenwich puts three players in doubles and rolls to their fifth straight win to start the season, all one-sided victories for the Witches.

Spa Catholic 71   Waterford 39

Leading Scorers:  Saints – Ryan Gillis 18   Kihl Kelley 14   Hunter Fales 12         Fordians – Derrick Pontore 17

Key Stat:  The Saints held a 23-10 edge in made twos.

Take Away:  Spa Catholic put three players in doubles and nine in the scoring column in the home win.  

Mechanicville 77   Hoosick Falls 71

Key Stat:  A 23-7 first period gave Mechanicville a working cushion.

Take Away:  Mechanicville used a big first quarter, put five players in doubles and leading scorer Richardson facilitated with 13 dimes in the road “W” over the Falls.  Down big, early, the Panthers cut the Mechanicville lead to two points late, before the visitors closed out the victory.  

Stillwater 97   Cambridge 38

Key Stat:  Stillwater held their hosts to single scoring numbers in each of the final three periods.

Take Away:  Stillwater put five players in doubles and hung 89 points on the board thru three quarters in rolling past Cambridge Tuesday night.

Tamarac 69   Greenwich 39

Key Stat:  Tamarac outscored the Witches 40-16 after the break.

Take Away:  The Bengals led 29-23 at halftime but took control with a 22-5 third frame, on their way to the home win.

Stillwater 51   Whitehall 18

Leading Scorers:  Stillwater – Addison Thornton 13   Miranda Price 13        Railroaders – Emily Lyng 7

Key Stat:  Stillwater held Whitehall to single scoring numbers in every period.

Take Away:  Stillwater jumped out to a 25-6 lead after one quarter of play and cruised to the nonleague, road “W”.

Waterford 40   Mekeel Christian Academy 35

Leading Scorers:  Fordians – Maddy Atwood 16   Rachel McOmber 10           MCA – Johannah Gardner 10

Key Stat:  Waterford converted on 8 of 18 from the free throw line, while MCA connected on just 2 of 9 from the stripe.

Take Away:  In a close game throughout the Fordians hold off MCA to notch the road victory.

Greenwich 76   Cambridge 29

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Brooke Kuzmich 32, 4 3’s, 8 steals    Adrianna Rojas 22, 3 3’s, 6 steals          Cambridge – Ashley Moses 12

Key Stat:  Greenwich held their guests to single scoring numbers in every period.

Take Away:  The Witches built a 45-11 advantage by the break and cruised to the home win over Cambridge.  Kuzmich and Rojas combine for 55 leading Greenwich to their fourth win in as many starts, with a margin of victory, a dominant 35 points per contest. 

Mechanicville 53   Watervliet/Heatly 43

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Ella Zecca 14   Tanner Eiseman 14        Cannoneers – Zoie Wass 13   Jessenia George 11

Key Stat:  Mechanicville made as many free throws, 13, as the Cannoneers attempted.  

Take Away:  Mechanicville notches the non-league win at home, riding a pressure defense that repeatedly turned Watervliet over in the first half leading to a 30-18 cushion by intermission.  Mechanicville extends their winning streak to six games and sit at 6-1 on the season.  

Hoosic Valley 59   Tamarac 44

Leading Scorers:  Hawks- Connor King 17, 5 3’s   Chris Jones 14   Isaac Wiley 12        Bengals – Adam Rice 18

Key Stat:  The Valley took control with a 25-6 second quarter.  

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley trailed 16-7 after the first frame but outscored Tamarac 41-15 over the next two periods on their way to the win in the Coaches vs. Cancer Event at HVCC on Sunday.  The Valley put three players in doubles in the “W” and move to 5-1 on the year while Tamarac slips to 2-3 with the loss.  

Greenwich 59   Chatham 55

Leading Scorers:  Witches – Joe Radovich 18   Ryan Ingber 15          Chatham – Sitzer 18   Taylor 12

Key Stat:  Greenwich outscored Chatham 19-13 in the fourth quarter.

Take Away:  In the Coaches for Cancer Event at HVCC, Greenwich led 29-26 at the break, but trailed 42-40 heading into the decisive fourth, where the Witches earned the come-from-behind “W”.

Tamarac 52   Hoosick Falls 33

Leading Scorers:  Bengals Myanna Faraj 15   Alex Castiglione 10         Panthers – Mackenna Robersen 21

Key Stat:  The Bengals held the Falls to single scoring numbers in three of the four periods.  

Take Away:  Leading 23-18 at halftime, Tamarac outscored the Panthers 29-15 over the final two frames to seal the win and move to 4-1 on the year.  

Mechanicville 69   Hudson 68

Leading Scorers:  Mechanicville – Colin Richardson 27     Logan Starks 10               Blue Hawks – Keith Robinson 36   Juwan Morrison 10 

Take Away: With 0:05 remaining in regulation Colin Richardson was fouled and connected on 1 of 2 free throws giving Mechanicville the lead, and when Hudson’s Keith Robinson’s runner at the buzzer was off the mark Mechanicville came away with the victory in the Coaches for Cancer Event at HVCC.  

Hoosic Valley 65   Mechanicville 57

Leading Scorers:  Hawks – Landon Reilly 20   Isaac Wiley 18        Mechanicville – Colin Richardson 18   Cruz Goverski 16   Joe Devito 11

Take Away:  Basketball is a game of runs and Hoosic Valley had the last one Friday night in Mechanicville outscoring their hosts 12-4 over the final three minutes to secure the well-earned road “W”.

The Valley opened with the first five points of the night before Mechanicville put together a 14-1 run and ended the quarter with a 19-10 lead with Cruz Goverski scoring nine in the frame.

The Hawks Landon Reilly scored the first five points of the second period part of a 11-2 Valley streak that tied things 21-all midway through the quarter. But Mechanicville controlled the remainder of the period and took a 32-27 advantage into the break.

Hoosic Valley outscored their hosts 22-11 in the third with Isaac Wiley and Dem Neary each netting seven points and held a 49-43 lead heading into the fourth.

Mechanicville put together a 10-4 run over the first five minutes of the frame to pull even at 53-all with Goverski and Colin Richardson leading the spurt.

But the Valley used a bucket and one from Isaac Wiley and clutch free throw shooting from Gabe Coffin 4 of 4, down the stretch to close out the road win. 

Tamarac 68   Waterford 25

Leading Scorers:  Bengals – Adam Rice 21   Frankie DiPalma 17             Fordians – Derrick Pontore 9

Key Stat:  Tamarac held the Fordians to single numbers in three of the four frames.

Take Away:   The Bengals jumped out to a 24-4 lead after the first frame and cruised to the road win Friday night.  Tamarac, with the victory moves to 2-2 on the year while Waterford slips to 1-5.

Hoosick Falls 79   Greenwich 34

Leading Scorers:  Panthers – Richie Stifter 20, 8 steals   Andrew Sparks 14          Witches – Langston Hall 9

Key Stat:  The Falls won each of the first three periods by double digits.

Take Away:  The Panthers drilled 10 triples, put 11 players in the scoring column and rolled to the road “W” over the Witches, moving to 4-2 on the year.

Stillwater 89   Spa Catholic 55

Take Away:  In a game played at HVCC, Stillwater leading 40-26 at the break, put this one to bed with a 32-15 third frame, notching their fourth straight win to start the season.
