Tuesday Night Hoops; Raiders Warriors Keep Pace

Many people around the league are looking forward to Friday nights game between co-leaders Mechanicville and Stillwater. Both undefeated and both in action last night where a loss by either would take some luster from the run later this week.  Both squads prevailed setting up a good one on Friday in Mechanicville.

Here’s a look at last night’s action.

Mechanicville 62  Cambridge 52

Leading Scorers: Red Raiders – Evan Dunn 21   C.J.Tironi 14   Giovanni D’Ambro 12      Indians – Kordell Benson 16   Shawn Lemeiux 10

Key Stat:  A 22-12 fourth period earned the win for the Raiders in a game surprisingly tied after three quarters of play.

Take Away:  Cambridge at 0-6 in the league shows they can play with the top dogs, while the Raiders get ready for Stillwater.

 

Stillwater 87   Tamarac 54

Leading Scorers: Warriors – Jared D’Aloia 31 with 5 3’s   Mitchel Wayand 27   Zack Travis 12   Brad Anderson 10  Bengals – Anthony Zotto 24   Dillon Maxon 15

Key Stat: The Warriors hung 20 plus on the board in every quarter, putting four players in doubles cruising to the easy win.

Take Away:  Tamarac drops to 2-4 with the loss, while all eyes point to Mechanicville for the Warriors.

 

Granville 50  Hoosic Valley

Leading Scorers: Golden Horde – Matthew Fuller 21   Dumanni Williams 14      Valley – Matt Espey 15   Dan Joslin 14

Key Stat:  Granville owned the lines out shooting the Valley 8-5 from behind the arc, and converting on 14 of 19 from the stripe to the Indians 5 of 6.

Take Away:  Granville moves to 3-3 and looks to climb above the .500 mark with a win over Greenwich on Friday.  Hoosic Valley drops to 1-4 and will look for a “W” in a Cambridge run on Friday.
