Friday Night Boys Hoops

While the premier game of the night played out in Mechanicville there were other important contests throughout the league.  Hoosick Falls needed a win to stay within striking distance of league leading Stillwater, and a win by Granville would move the Golden Horde to above .500 in conference play.  Here’s how it played out on a Friday night in the Wasaren.

Granville 38  Greenwich 35

Leading Scorers: Horde – Matthew Fuller 20      Witches – George Ostrowski 11     Carson Mosher 10

Key Stat:  Tied after three periods of play the Golden Horde won the fourth, notching league win number four to get above the .500 mark through the first half of the conference schedule.

Take Away:   A pair of wins for Granville this week puts them in the mix at 4-3, while Greenwich at 1-6 is looking to gain traction.

 

Hoosick Falls 59  Tamarac 37

Leading Scorers:  Falls – Connor McCart 26    Remington Hickey 18     Bengals – Anthony Zotto 10

Key Stat:  The Falls out scored Tamarac 35-9 over the middle two periods to put this one away.

Take Away: With the win the Panthers improve to 5-2 and stay just two games back of front-running Stillwater.

 

Hoosic Valley 52 Cambridge 45

Leading Scorers: Valley – Matt Espey 12   Isaac Sanchez 11   Micheal Schoonmaker 11         Indians – Daniel Genevick 13  Shawn Lemeiux 12

Key Stat: The Valley post the come from behind win with a 31-17 second half, after trailing 28-21 at intermission.

Take Away:  Hoosic Valley moves to 3-4 in league play with the “W”. while Cambridge searches for their first league victory at 0-7.
