The Hoosick Falls Panthers put together a great run throughout the regular and post season in 2015-16, entering Saturday’s Class B Section II final with Glens Falls, winners in 20 of their last 21 games. On Saturday afternoon that run came to an end as Glens Falls did just enough on both ends of the floor to come away with the 45-36 victory, and the Class B crown.
The Panthers jumped out to a 13-9 lead after one, but the Indians outscored Hoosick Falls 26-9 over the middle two periods and rode that cushion to their first sectional championship since 1987.
Sophie Tougas with 18 points led Glens Falls who advance to regional play on Wednesday at the Civic Center where they’ll face Northeastern Clinton in a 6 p.m. run.
Kelly Pine with 12 points and Megan Flynn with 11 paced the Panthers who end with a 21-3 mark in special season for Hoosick Falls.
