Thursday Round Up



Hoosick Falls 3   Tamarac 2:  In a match played at Frear Park the Panthers Ryan Bloomer carded a 36 to take medalist honors and lead the Falls to the narrow victory over the Bengals.

Hayden Smith and Miles Smith added wins for Hoosick Falls while Will Ashley and Connor Wright posted match wins for Tamarac.

Mechanicville 5   Waterford 0:  Tim Coleman’s 43 led the Raider sweep of the Fordians in action at Fairways of Halfmoon.

Jake Popiel, Alex Ciulla, Justin Pugliese, and Sean Fitzgerald all won individual matches for Mechanicville.

Field Hockey

Schuylerville 2   Greenwich 1:  Two second half goals gave the Black Horses the come-from-behind victory over the Witches in the season opener for both squads.

Sabrina Whitehouse scored at the 18:22 mark of the first giving Greenwich the 1-0 lead, an advantage they held deep into the second half.

Schuylerville tied things on a Lauren Morency goal with 11:23 remaining , and with 1:10 left the Horses Alison Burnham found the cage with the winner in this non-league contest between neighboring rivals.

Girls Soccer

Stillwater 4   St. Johnsville 2:  In a game knotted at 1-1 headed to intermission, three second half goals by the Warriors gave Stillwater their second victory in as many days.

After first half goals by St. Johnsville’s Alexis Romeyn and Stillwater’s Devon Wagner, St. J took the lead early in the second half on a Abby Mosher strike.

That lead was short lived as a pair of goals from Brooke Pickett, and another from Sydney Wayand gave the Warriors the come back win, running their record to 2-0 on the season.
