Mechanicville 2   Spa Catholic 1:  In a well played match the Red Raiders notched the victory to stay undefeated and on top of the Wasaren.

Ten minutes in Marcus Tobin cleaned up a deflection in front of the net giving Mechanicville the early 1-0 lead.

Saratoga Catholic got on the board with :03 remaining in the half when Dante Marin connected on a penalty kick knotting things at 1-1.

The game winner came with :45 left in the contest when Drew Murphy’s header found the back of the net off a Jeff Luce corner as the Raiders ran their record to 9-0 on the year, setting up a big Tuesday night match in Mechanicville with Stillwater.

 

Girls Soccer

Mechanicville 9   Greenwich 0:  Mackenzie Bowie scored six goals to lead the Raiders to the easy win over the Witches.

Bryn Murphy, Lea Hickey, and Julia Amodeo all added single goals for Mechanicville and Lauren Claeys with 5 saves earned the shutout for the Raiders.

 

Cambridge 2   Tamarac 1:  Miranda Seacord scored a goal in both halves as Cambridge came away with a big road victory over the Bengals of Tamarac.

Seacord’s second tally gave the Indians a 2-0 advantage before Camille Gardner found the range for Tamarac cutting the lead in half at 2-1.  But the Cambridge defense clamped down to put this one in the win column, the Indians fourth straight in Wasaren league play.
