With a share of first place in the Wasaren up for grabs, Stillwater scored four first half goals and then hung on for the 4-3 victory over the Raiders Tuesday night in Mechanicville.
In a physical match where five yellow cards were handed out, it was a tale of two halves with the Warriors behind a pair of goals from Jake Zdonick, and single strikes from Brody Ceipal and Grant Baker taking a 4-0 advantage into the break.
But the Raiders, who were undefeated coming in for a reason, stormed back with second half scores from Jeff Luce, Marcus Tobin, and Conner Keegan coming up just short in absorbing their first loss of the year.
Both squads now own identical 9-1 records, and having split their two regular season matches they share the top spot in the Wasaren.
Waterford 2 Hoosic Valley 0: A pair of first half tallies by the Fordians Hunter Guertin propelled Waterford past the Indians on Tuesday.
Tamarac 0 Hoosick Falls 0: Both squads defenses took center stage with the contest ending in the scoreless tie. Hoosick Falls keeper Evan McCart with 7 saves earned the shutout, while his counterpart Evan Petersen did the same turning back 8 shots for the Bengals.
