Girls Soccer, Raiders Top Warriors


Mechanicville 3  Stillwater 2:  In a match with the league title on the line, the Red Raiders of Mechanicville scored three second half goals to post the come from behind victory over Stillwater.

The Warriors held a 1-0 halftime advantage on the first of two Brooke Pickett goals, but the Raiders stormed back after the break.

Jada Brown, Madison Harrington, and Lea Hickey all found the back of the net providing just enough offense for the “W”.

Mechanicville (11-1-1) got seven saves from keeper Laurne Claeys, while Stillwater (10-1-2) got 13 saves from their keeper Danika Svendsen.

Both squads wrap up the regular season on Thursday, Stillwater hosting Hoosic Valley while Mechanicville travels to Hoosick Falls to take on the Panthers.


Hoosick Falls 1   Tamarac 0:  Taylor Mann found the range with a first half strike and that proved the difference in the Panthers victory over the Bengals.

Panther keeper Sydney Miller turned back none shots in picking up the shutout for Hoosick Falls (9-3-1).

Sarah Gibbs saved five shots for Tamarac (6-4-3).


Hoosic Valley 9   Waterford 0:  Madison Eddy’s hat trick led the Valley attack as the Indians cruised to the easy win.

Samantha Lanoue added a pair of goals for Hoosic Valley, (4-8-1), and keeper Lauren Paul saved three to earn the shutout.
