Soccer and volleyball both played out on Monday in the Wasaren with Cambridge posting wins in both girls and boys soccer, while Hoosic Valley remained unbeaten in league play on the volleyball court.
Girls Soccer
Cambridge 3 Greenwich 0: Miranda Seacord scored a hat trick to lead the Indians past the Witches in Greenwich Monday afternoon.
Victoria Dupius with five saves earned the shutout for Cambridge (6-7), while Courtney Fraher saved 17 shots for Greenwich (2-12).
Boys Soccer
Cambridge 2 Waterford 1: Thirty eight minutes into the second half the Indians Eli Robertson scored the game winner, as Cambridge posted the well earned “W” over the Fordians.
After a scoreless first half Max Ratelle found the range with a looping shot from the left side and the Indians took the 1-0 lead eight minutes in.
The Fordians tied things in the 20th minute on a nice left foot finish by Hunter Guertin, setting up Robertson’s score from 18 yards out later in the half.
Indians keeper Cody Oldham saved three shots for Cambridge who improve to 12-3-1 with the victory.
Devin Pierre turned back seven shots for Waterford, who are 9-7 on the year.
