Four Wasaren girls soccer teams played in Class C quarterfinals on Wednesday and two moved on as Stillwater and Mechanicville notched wins, advancing to semifinal games on Saturday.
Mechanicville 6 Hoosic Valley 1: Mackenzie Bowie scored a hat trick to lead the Raiders past the Indians of Hoosic Valley.
Mya Demarco, Madeline Garone and Lea Hickey all found the back of the net for Mechanicville who led 4-1 at halftime.
Sami Dickinson scored the lone Valley goal in the contest.
Mechanicville moves on to meet Lake George on Saturday in Lansingburgh at 5 p.m.
Stillwater 1 Maple Hill 0: The only score of the day came on a Brooke Pickett penalty kick in the second half, but that proved enough as the Warriors posted the narrow victory over the Hilltoppers.
Stillwater keeper Danika Svendsen saved three shots to post the shutout for the Warriors who will meet Schoharie in Lansingburgh on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Lake George 3 Cambridge 2: In a back and forth contest Gabbriella Marchello scored her second goal in the match at the 17:28 mark of the second half giving the Warriors the well earned “W” over the Indians of Cambridge.
Miranda Seacord gave Cambridge the early lead, scoring just four minutes in, but the Warriors quickly tied things on Marchello’s first tally at the 14:00 mark of the first half.
Early in the second half Logan Cormie made it 2-1 Warriors when she found the range, but a penalty kick from the Indians Grace Snyder tied things at 2-2, setting up the game winner from Marchello.
Lake George advances to play Mechanicville in Lansingburgh on Saturday in the semi’s.
