The Mechanicville girls soccer team took the short ride north Tuesday afternoon to Schuylerville where they faced the Black Horse in a nonleague get together. Three hours later they returned to Mechanicville with yet another “W”, this one a 2-1 decision over their hosts.
Midway through the first half Mechanicville struck first when eighth-grader Nevaeh D’Alioa took a feed from Brynn Murphy and found the back of the net for the 1-0 Raider lead.
That score held through the break and into the second half until Schuylerville’s Amy Moreau connected at the 56:33 mark knotting the score at 1-1.
With 17:00 left in the match Mackenzie Bowen, off a Lea Hickey find, put away the game winner to give the Red Raiders their 13th victory in 14 outings.
Savannah Bowie saved three shots between the posts for Mechanicville who will host Hoosick Falls today in the regular season finale, the Panthers being the only team to avoid defeat by the Raiders, tying Mechanicville in their first meeting four weeks ago.
