Saturday Football; Cambridge Wins Big

Cambridge 63 Helderberg Valley 3:  Cambridge scored six touchdowns in the first 12 minutes of play in rolling over Helderberg Valley.

Brenden Holcomb was on the receiving end of three touchdown passes from Zack Rowland covering 52, 37 and 12 yards, and Jonas Butz and Colton Dean added rushing scores for Cambridge, all coming in the first period.  Max Hofer returned an interception 30 yards for a touchdown to cap the first quarter assault as the Indians with yet another dominant victory improve to 6-1 on the season.

 

Warrensburg 20  Hoosic Valley 14:  In a game where all the scoring was done in the first half of play, Warrensburg, trailing 14-8 early in the second period, battled back with a pair of rushing touchdowns to get past the Valley and clinch the Class D-2 title.

Cole Lanfear ran for 209 yards and two scores, while Trevor Prosser added 101 yards rushing with a touchdown to lead the Burgers who improve to 6-1 with the “W”.

Branden Haughney and Will Scofield scored rushing touchdowns for the Indians who slip to 3-4 on the year.
